2017 FIRST FLIGHT SHIRAZ
The 2017 Barossa Shiraz is a deep crimson in colour and displays aromas of forest fruits and wild berries with complex spicy aromas.
On the palate you get layers off forest fruits, spice and chocolate. Long fine, velvety tannins persist this delicate balanced and well-structured wine.
This wine is a blend of individual Shiraz parcels from hand selected vineyards throughout Barossa and Eden Valley. All fruit was destemmed and crushed into small 1 tonne open top fermenters with a component of whole bunch clusters. The fruit was then held at 10-15 degrees for 5 days before allowing to warm and start fermentation. After 15 days on skins and hand plunged daily the wines were pressed to 20% new, 80% seasoned French oak Hogsheads where they matured for 12 months. No fining or filtration was used on these wines.
